The Advanced Domestic Violence Issues for Providers Training examines this subject as it relates to mental health professionals. The course will critically review the “domestic violence movement,” feminist model, criminalization of violence, impact on children, awareness in culture and current responses. The therapist will gain perspectives to IPV and apply it to their profession. The training includes lecture, scenarios and a panel of survivors speaking about their victimization and overcoming it.
Randy Saucedo is a child survivor of an IPV homicide and is a crime victim’s advocate for over 20 years. He achieved a Baccalaureate Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at San Antonio and Master’s Degree from the University of Colorado at Denver Program on Domestic Violence. He created the SAVE Survivor Empathy Panel and is the Director of Victim Services at Intervention and is recognized as an expert on domestic violence in the Colorado courts.
